It Takes Ladyballs

It feels easier to stay closed off in life.

LOFB - NoaFeels.

It feels easier to exist in a state of emotionally being checked right the hell out of everything going on around you. It feels safe to keep everyone at a distance. It makes you feel good to be above all that emotional crap.

It feels so much more superior, to not be ruled by emotions. To let people think you’re above it all. To push back against the messiness of the world.

Here’s the thing: life is fucking messy. You’re gonna get to the end no matter what. You can either sink in to the emotion and messiness of the world or you can live your whole entire life not feeling it. You can pretend it’s not there. You can feel superior, but where does that get you?

The whole world is a mess. Everyone you know is a mess. emotions are messy and weird. The things you feel, the things you do, the things you think, they’re messy and emotional.

Living above it all does nothing for you other than get you to the other side without ever feeling the good and the bad of it all. You live isolated. You live as an island.

Sinking in, you’re gonna get hurt sometimes. I wish I could tell you otherwise, but it’s the truth. It’s going to be that way whether you choose to be above it all or sinking in though. Hurt shines through no matter the path you take.

If you sink in, though, if you let yourself feel, if you let other people in and share yourself, you get the good, the great with it as well. You get to feel the incredible highs that help you balance out the lows. You get to see people in a whole new light, see the world in a whole new light.

And most importantly, you get to know yourself. You get to know who you really are, and get to love that person as well. Above it all you hate yourself. Sinking in, you learn to love your messiness. You learn to love the emotions you have. You learn to love who you are as the incredible, messy, emotional, and beautiful person you are.

Sink in? Stay above it?

It’s gonna take lady balls. Make the good choice.

Sometimes it takes brass lady balls the size of Jupiter, but I think we all have those tucked away, just waiting to drop…
